Beautiful hand made and hand painted trinket box in the shape of an apple.
The artwork on this collector's piece is truly remarkable and has
the quality look that will allow it to adorn any dressing tabel
with pride.
The size of the casket is approx. 9x9 cm (approx. 4x4 inches),
and was made by talented artists of Sergiev Posad, in Russia.
The casket is of an apple shape and looks very pretty and feminine.
It is beautifully decorated by big pink flowers, green leaves and
other pretty patterns.
There was a lot of work and a number of high skilled techniques
going into making this beautiful casket. After preparing and polishing
the mould, made of Linden tree, pyrography was applied to it. Pyrography
is the art of decorating wood or other materials with burn marks
resulting from the controlled application of a heated object such
as a poker. It is also known as “pokerwork” or “wood burning”. Pyrography
means "writing with fire" and is the traditional art of
using a heated tip or wire to burn or scorch designs onto natural
materials such as wood or leather.
